Gardaí name man who died at Electric Picnic

Gardaí have named the 23-year-old man who died at the weekend's Electric Picnic music festival as John Fitzpatrick, of Healy’s Bridge, Carrigrohane, Co Cork.

A post-mortem will be carried out today on Mr Fitzpatrick.

The student nurse was discovered unconscious during a live music set at Stradbally, Co Laois, in the early hours of yesterday.

Despite attempts by paramedics to save his life, he was later pronounced dead at Portlaoise General Hospital.

Gardaí have ruled out foul play.
