Mother and daughter rescued off Dublin coast

A mother and her 11-year-old daughter have been rescued off the coast of Dublin.

They took a dinghy out near South Beach in Skerries at around 9.30am this morning, but got into difficulty.

They were caught up in high winds which swept them out to sea.

The alarm was raised and the Coastguard and Skerries lifeboat launched a rescue operation.

The two were brought to shore safely a short time later.
