Man arrested on gun possession charges in Dublin

A 39-year-old man was arrested last night after being found in possession of a pistol and ammunition in Co Dublin.

He was found with a silver Magnum and ammunition in his jeans when detained and searched in a pub in the Santry area about 11.30pm last night.

The man, who is known to gardaí, is being held under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act at Santry Garda Station.
