Roscommon investigation upgraded to murder inquiry

Gardaí have launched a formal murder inquiry following the death of a 47-year-old man in Co Roscommon yesterday morning.

The body of Brendan Thomas Cunningham was discovered in the front garden of his house in Ballinlough.

He had been living in the house with his parents and son.

The cause of his death has not been disclosed.

An 18-year-old man, who is believed to be from the area, was arrested yesterday and remains in custody at Roscommon Garda Station.
