No Aer Lingus long-haul services during strike

Passengers planning on flying with Aer Lingus this week are being reminded that only a limited service will operate, if pilots go ahead with their two-day strike on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Aer Lingus has hired a number of planes to cover the planned strike, and hopes to accommodate around 10,000 passengers on some of its European routes.

However, all transatlantic services have been cancelled due to the fact that there are not any long-haul planes available.

Customers holding reservations for cancelled flights can either change their booking, free of charge, or get a full refund.

The airline's Commercial Director, Enda Corneille, says customers can log onto the Aer Lingus website, or phone the call-centre to check details of the cancelled flights and departure times of the new ones.
