The office of the Director of Public Prosecution is struggling to cope with its workload because of staff shortages.

The DPP James Hamilton, says the current lack of funding for a dedicated policy groups is an "enormous drawback" when it comes to dispensing advice about European and International law issues to the Department of Justice.
