Omagh relatives mark ninth anniversary of bombing
Relatives of the victims of the Omagh bombing are today marking the ninth anniversary of the Real IRA atrocity.
Twenty-nine people were killed when the dissident republican group detonated a massive car bomb in the Co Tyrone town on August 15, 1998.
Nobody has been convicted of direct involvement in the attack and families of the victims have long been calling for a full public inquiry into the handling of the investigation.
Spokesman Michael Gallagher, whose son Aidan was killed in the bombing, says they have almost given up hope of anyone being brought to justice.
Mr Gallagher and other relatives have already decided to take a civil case against a number of alleged Real IRA members whom they blame for the atrocity.
