A seaman who was injured at Dublin Port last week has died from his injuries in hospital.

31-year-old Patrick Zawadowicz was married and his wife is expecting his first child.

He was third officer on the "Dublin Viking" vessel, which he was due to leave at the end of the month to take a job ashore.

The circumstances surrounding the accident are unclear.

A second man who was also injured has been discharged from hospital.
