Caterers receive Closure Orders
Six catering businesses were served with Closure Orders last month because of sub-standard hygiene, food safety officials confirmed today.
The Food Safety Authority of Ireland (FSAI) said the affected premises were in counties Roscommon, Wicklow, Dublin, Westmeath and Monaghan.
Today, the FSAI clarified that a Prohibition Order had been served on a Cold Storage business owned by Anthony Keane, Robinhood Industrial Estate, Clondalkin and not Trailercare Holdings Ltd, as it had previously stated. Mr Keane’s cold store is located at Trailercare Holdings Ltd.
A Closure Order is served where it is deemed there is, or is likely to be, an immediate danger to public health at the premises.
The Order can refer to the immediate closure of all or part of the business, or all or some of its activities.
The previous highest number of Closure Orders this year was in February, when seven businesses were served.
