West Bank teenagers to visit Dublin cathedral

Teenagers from the war-torn West Bank will today visit Dublin’s St Patrick’s Cathedral as part of their week-long Irish tour.

The 16 youngsters from the Palestinian village of Zebabdeh are taking part in the Youth Connections for Peace project in conjunction with a Dublin school.

The group will visit St Patrick’s Cathedral to participate in the cathedral’s educational project, hear the story of St Patrick and the particular significance and symbolism of the Door of Reconciliation.

The group is an ecumenical group of Palestinian Christians led by the Revd Fadi Diab, an Anglican Palestinian Priest from Zebabdah.

It emerged earlier this week that the students were to meet privately with families of the Omagh Bomb victims during their visit as the anniversary of the atrocity approaches.
