Children's Ombudsman seeks improved school transport
The Children's Ombudsman is calling for improvements to school transport, saying the current system is not up to scratch.
Emily Logan says existing transport arrangements are blocking some children's constitutional right to education, particularly in rural areas.
She says her office has received 55 complaints affecting 136 children on school buses.
Many relate to catchment boundaries and the lack of supervision on the buses and at drop-off points.
