Euromillions to see lottery fever continue
The lottery fever that saw one lucky Cork family win €16m could be set to continue.
Helen and Paul Cunningham arrived with their family to pick up their windfall at National Lottery headquarters in Dublin yesterday.
But now lottery officials have revealed the Euromillions jackpot up for grabs on Friday has reached €40m.
News of the cash prize came after Ireland’s latest Lotto millionaires vowed to lead a normal life away from the media glare despite netting the biggest jackpot in the state’s history.
Lottery officials said two million lottery tickets were bought in the lead-up to last Saturday’s much-hyped lotto draw.
Now they are urging punters to shift their attention towards Friday’s Euromillions draw.
Ireland’s biggest lottery winner is Dolores McNamara who won €115m in the European draw in 2005.
