The number of deaths on Ireland's roads has decreased by almost 100 since the introduction of mandatory breath-testing, according to figures published today by the Road Safety Authority.

The body says the number of people killed in road accidents is down 93 in the 12 months since Gardai were given the power to randomly test motorists for alcohol limits.
