Foul play has been ruled out in the death of a teenage girl from Belfast in a quiet Donegal holiday village, gardaí said today.

Ashling McVeigh, from west Belfast, was found lying dead in a flat off Main Street, Ballintra, shortly before midnight on Saturday.

A full post mortem examination is to be carried out on the 15-year-old’s body at Letterkenny General Hospital to try to establish the cause of death.

The teenager’s family, including parents Patricia and Steven, brother Sean and sister Kerri, have been informed.

The scene at the flat has been preserved for forensic examination.
