Pensions Board successful in nine cases
The Pensions Board successfully prosecuted nine cases before the courts last year.
Two of the cases were brought against the trustees of occupational pension schemes and seven were against employers who failed to respond to the Board's request for information about their mandatory employer obligations.
Later this year the Minister for Social Affairs Martin Cullen will bring in an "on-the-spot fine" system which will provide an alternative to the courts.
Mr Cullen said plans for this scheme were already well underway.
