At least five people have been hospitalised following the collapse of a stairwell at the Natural History Museum on in Dublin city centre this morning.

At least five people have been hospitalised following the collapse of a stairwell at the Natural History Museum on in Dublin city centre this morning.

Around 20 people were on the stairwell of the National History Museum on Merrion Street when it collapsed at 11.30am, but no one is believed to have suffered life-threatening injuries.

The emergency services say around six or seven "walking wounded" are also at the scene, some of whom are being treated for shock

Five units of the fire brigade and up to nine ambulances are at the scene.
