Man in critical condition after south Dublin shooting

A man in his early 20s remains in a critical condition in hospital this morning after being shot in the head in a gangland-style assassination attempt in south Dublin yesterday afternoon.

The victim was shot by a fellow passenger inside a car on Lakelands Road in Stillorgan at around 4pm.

He was then pushed from the vehicle.

Gardaí quickly arrested two men aged 21 and 22 in connection with the shooting, both of whom are still in custody at Tallaght Garda Station this morning.

The shooting is reportedly linked to a feud between rival criminals in the Crumlin area.
