Suspected pipe bomb thrown from passing car in Dublin

Army bomb disposal experts are examining a suspected pipe bomb thrown from a passing car in west Dublin this morning.

The incident happened on Church Road in Mulhuddart just before 9am.

The surrounding area was quickly evacuated by Gardaí and members of the Defence Forces.

The device has since been taken away to a safe location, where a controlled explosion will be carried out.
