Boy, 14, stabbed to death

A 14-year-old boy has been stabbed to death in Co Clare.

Another teenager has been arrested in connection with the attack in Ennis last night.

The victim was stabbed on O’Connell Street iat around 10.50pm, according to gardai.

He was taken to Ennis Hospital where he later died from his injuries.

A 17-year-old boy was arrested and is being detained at Ennis Garda Station under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.

He can be held for questioning for up to 24 hours.

The scene has been sealed off for technical examination and the services of the State Pathologist have been requested.
