Wexford gardaí continue to question assault suspect

Gardaí in Wexford are continuing to question a man following an alleged assault in the town in the early hours of this morning.

A man in his 30s received serious injuries in the incident on George Street.

He was rushed to Wexford General Hospital, where he is still being treated for his injuries.

A 20-year-old man was arrested at the scene and taken to Wexford Garda station.

He is still being held under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.

Gardaí are appealing to any witnesses to come forward.
