Talks between the owners of Fortuna I, the Latvian vessel stranded in Ireland since March and representatives of the crew broke down today.

The 11 men have been in Ireland for more than two months and spent much of this time at anchor in Dundalk bay.

According to the International Transport Federation, the owners failed to pay the crew, with arrears running into the hundreds of thousands.

The vessel will now be sold so they can be paid.
