Relatives of the victims of the 1981 Stardust tragedy have mounted a protest outside Government Buildings in Dublin this morning.

The demonstration was arranged to highlight the Government's delay in setting up a new inquiry into the nightclub fire that killed 48 people on St Valentine's Day 26 years ago.

A barrister has been appointed to oversee the inquiry and the terms of reference have been agreed, but the Stardust Victims Committee says the necessary funding has still not been provided.

"We were hoping to have the whole process completed by the end of July and as it stands now we haven't even started," spokesperson Antoinette Keegan said today.
