Gardaí in Dublin are holding two men in connection with the fatal stabbing of a man in Swords in the early hours of yesterday morning.

The 27-year-old Latvian man was attacked at Oaklands Avenue, Swords, shortly after 3am yesterday.

He was taken to Beaumont Hospital with serious injuries, where he died shortly before 10pm.

Gardaí arrested two men in connection with the incident - one aged 24 and the other 19.

They're being detained under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act at Swords and Malahide Garda Stations.

They can be held for up to 72 hours.
