A 25 year-old Lithuanian man who was convicted of murder and sentenced to life last month has been given a concurrent 18-month prison term for an assault arising from the same incident.

A Lithuanian national accused of murder allegedly told a security guard at a night club that he had "caught up" with the deceased and "stabbed him up".

Gardaí in Dublin are holding two men in connection with the fatal stabbing of a man in Swords in the early hours of yesterday morning.
