Voting underway on islands

Voting in the general election is continuing today on islands off the west coast of the country.

The first ballots in the election were cast yesterday on several offshore islands.

The booths are opening today on Inisturk, Innisbiggle and Clare Island, where around 200 people are eligible to vote.

The islands vote ahead of the rest of the country due to potential problems with transporting ballot boxes in bad weather.
