Major roadworks get underway on M50

Further traffic disruption is likely to hit the M50 motorway around Dublin today as roadworks get underway around the N7/Red Cow interchange.

The work forms part of the ongoing upgrade of the notoriously congested motorway.

Major traffic diversions are being put into place, with the entire western side of the N7 roundabout set to be removed.

Motorists are being asked to slow down and pay attention to the new routes.

South Dublin County Council says when the work is completed, the N7/Red Cow interchange will be free flowing, with no traffic lights or roundabout.
