Talks to resume on nursing dispute tomorrow

Crisis talks between nurses and health employers will resume at Government Buildings tomorrow.

Crisis talks between nurses and health employers will resume at Government Buildings tomorrow.

They were adjourned late last night after some progress was made on the 35-hour week sought by nurses, but there little headway was reported on the 10% pay rise.

Meanwhile, an Irish Times poll shows that two-thirds of voters support the nurses, while 58% also support their industrial action.

Work stoppages have been called off while the talks are ongoing, but a work-to-rule by 44,000 nurses is entering its fifth week.
