A Clare man accused of murdering a hackney driver with a hatchet got a 14 year-old boy to help him destroy evidence of the killing, a jury in the Central Criminal Court heard today.

A Clare man accused of murdering a hackney driver with a hatchet got a 14 year-old boy to help him destroy evidence of the killing, a jury in the Central Criminal Court heard today.

The boy, now aged 16, who cannot be named for legal reasons, told the court that Anthony Kelly (aged 54) was "almost like a father" to him.
