Taoiseach's daughter gives birth to twins

The Taoiseach's daughter Georgina Ahern has given birth to twin boys.

A spokesperson for Georgina's PR company says mother and babies are both doing well, and that a press statement will be issued shortly.

The twins are the first grandchildren for Bertie Ahern, who is officially opening a laboratory in Co Kildare this afternoon.

Georgina married Westlife star Nicky Byrne at a lavish ceremony in France in July 2003.
