Labour targets women voters

Labour’s Dáil candidates will today call on women voters to support them in the forthcoming general election.

The Why Women Should Vote Labour campaign will be unveiled by the party’s women chair Sinead Ni Chulachain, and TDs Joan Burton and Joe Costello.

The party also plans to roll out five female supporters – a student, professional woman, young mother, middle-aged woman and older woman – to represent each of Pat Rabbitte’s five Commitments for Change.

They are: more beds in clean hospitals, more gardaí, end the means test for carers, pre-school education for all children and a Begin to Buy for house buyers.
