Ryanair passengers stranded in Spain due to heavy fog

Hundreds of Ryanair passengers were left stranded in Spain yesterday due to heavy fog.

The passengers were due to travel from Vitoria to Dublin with the airline, but their plane was diverted to Santander before returning to Ireland with just the crew on board.

Ryanair says the passengers were offered the next available flight from Vitoria or transfers via flights from other airports or a full refund of their fares.

Most of them returned home yesterday or will fly home today.
