Two die in crashes

Two young men were killed in separate road accidents this weekend, gardaí said today.

A 20-year-old man died after the car he was driving crashed into a roadside ditch near Mullingar, Co Westmeath.

The accident happened near Ballagh at around 8.30pm last night.

Two passengers in the car were taken to hospital, but their injuries are not life threatening.

In a second crash, a man in his 20s died after a car accident in Dublin’s Phoenix Park.

He was a passenger in a car which crashed into railings on Military Road at 1.35am this morning.
