Waterford road blocked after high-speed car chase

The Tramore to Annestown Road in Waterford has been blocked following a high-speed car chase between gardaí and what is believed to be a stolen car.

A police patrol car was rammed following the chase, and both cars caught fire.

No one is believed have been seriously injured.

The occupants of the car are understood to have made an escape to the outlying islands off Annestown beach, and Tramore Cliff Rescue have been called on to assist in retrieving them.
