A man has been charged with attempted murder in connection with an assault in the Co Derry town of Portstewart last night.

A man has been charged with attempted murder in connection with an assault in the Co Derry town of Portstewart last night.

A 39-year-old man sustained serious head and face injuries in the incident.

The 26-year-old man charged this evening is scheduled to appear at North Antrim Magistrates Court tomorrow.
