Fine Gael has hit back at the Minister for Finance's comments to the Fianna Fáil Ard Fheis that Fine Gael's plans to overhaul stamp duty would lead to a fall in house prices and a decline in construction jobs.

Fine Gael's finance spokesperson Richard Bruton said his party's proposals are fairer to first-time buyers and are supported by economic experts.
