'Gangland shooting' victim named
A man whose body was found on a beach on Co Meath yesterday has been named locally as 30-year-old Roy Coddington, from the nearby Drogheda area. He had been shot.
Gardaí are investigating a possible drugs link to the murder.
The body was found in sand dunes at Mornington beach with a number of shotgun wounds to the head.
Reports this morning say the victim was heavily involved in drug-dealing and was well known to gardaí in the Louth-Meath area.
The beach where his body was found has been closed off to allow for forensic examinations and to carry out a search for evidence.
