Grenade attack linked to gangland feud
Detectives investigating a gun and grenade attack on a house in Limerick believe it was linked to a gangland feud in the city, it was confirmed today.
In the latest incident connected to the bloody row between rival factions shots were fired through the front window of a house in the Southill area last night.
A grenade was also thrown at the house around 9.50pm but it exploded in the garden causing some shrapnel damage.
The sole occupant of the house at the time escaped uninjured.
Investigating gardaí suspect the attack was linked to the murder of Noel Crawford, 40, who was gunned down outside his O’Malley Park family home in Southill before Christmas.
The scene of last night's attack remained sealed off today for technical examination.
