Legal expert claims McDowell's crime proposals unlikely to have much impact

An international legal expert has hit out at the Justice Minister's recent proposals to tackle gangland crime.

Tanaiste Michael McDowell outlined several new measures earlier this week, including new powers for the Gardai to keep people in custody for up to seven days.
