Tanaiste stands by €1bn claim for tribunal

The Tánaiste tonight stood by his claims that the Mahon Tribunal will cost the taxpayer one billion euro.

The chairman of the planning corruption inquiry, Judge Alan Mahon yesterday said 300 million euro would be the final bill and that it would complete its work in early 2008.
