Seven-day drug detention laws not used, admits Govt

No drug trafficking suspects arrested in the last two years were detained for the maximum seven days allowed, the Government confirmed today.

Even though almost 1,500 have been questioned by gardaí, none were interrogated for the full week and only a handful faced up to five days in custody.
