Row over re-zoning of convent land in Co Tipperary
A row is brewing in Co Tipperary over the re-zoning of former convent land.
The Presentation Order sold the site to Cashel Town Council, believing it would become a town park.
A local businessman bought the convent and transformed it into a nursing home.
Cashel Town Council acquired the adjoining land, but has since sold it on again to a developer for €1.9m.
The company intends to build a hotel and commercial buildings.
