Nursing pay demands could cost the Exchequer up to €1bn, the Taoiseach told the Dáil today.

The Irish Nurses Organisation and the Psychiatric Nurses Association plan to mount work stoppages at major hospitals in coming weeks over unsatisfactory working conditions.
