The full Medical Council has backed a recent decision by its Fitness to Practice Committee finding three leading obstetricians guilty of professional misconduct.

The men had cleared disgraced obstetrician Michael Neary of any wrongdoing after reviewing nine cases of caesarean hysterectomies he carried out at Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda in 1998.
