Govt 'failing to appreciate scale of emissions problem'

Green Party leader Trevor Sargent has accused the Government of failing to appreciate the scale of the problem posed by Ireland's rising greenhouse gas emissions.

Figures due to be published by the Environmental Protection Agency next week are expected to highlight a 2% rise in emissions in 2005, the largest increase since 2001.
