Towns in the North slammed in EU report on sewage treatment

British taxpayers are facing multi-million pound fines over raw sewage being discharged into the sea from nine towns in the North.

The European Court of Justice has found that waste waterworks in the towns are inadequate and a cause of pollution problems.
