Recruitment to garda reserve much slower than expected

Recruitment to the new garda reserve is reportedly progressing much more slowly than the Government initially envisaged.

Reports this morning say just 36 people are currently qualified as members of the part-time force and only about 140 are expected to be in place by the time of the upcoming general election.
