Birdflu find leads to mass cull in the UK
Authorities in the UK have culled 160,000 turkeys, after an outbreak of birdflu in Suffolk.
A massive restriction zone is in place to try and prevent the spread of the potentially deadly H5N1 strain of the virus.
The Minister for Agriculture, Mary Coughlan has said her department is constantly reviewing procedures to make sure Ireland remains free of birdflu.
She said that the authorities here are working with vets in Britain to keep the situation under control.
