St James's forced to cancel surgery due to bed shortage

The country's largest hospital has been forced to cancel a number of urgent operations yesterday due to a shortage of intensive-care beds.

The cancellations happened yesterday at St James's Hospital in Dublin because some recovery beds in operating theatres had to be used for patients in need of one-to-one care.
