Coastguards backed up by local volunteers are to continue their search of the shoreline near the sunken trawler, the Honeydew 2 this afternoon.

The teams will fan out along the Wexford/Waterford coast from Ardmore to Carnsore as divers prepare to revisit the wreck early tomorrow morning.

Yesterday, the search for bodies on the second doomed boat, the Pere Charles, was finally called off.

But a spokesperson for the Irish Coastguard Service said searches for the Honeydew 2 will continue.

Dives are expected to resume tomorrow at about 7am to examine the hold and bow area of the sunken trawler.
