Gardaí investigate house fire in Dublin

Gardaí in Dublin have begun an investigation into the cause of a house fire in which a husband and wife were killed.

The couple, named locally as Joe and Sheila Power, were discovered by emergency services at their home in Glenvara Park in Knocklyon at about 3.30pm yesterday.

The blaze was confined to a down stairs bedroom, and there was no visible signs of damage to the front of the house.

Post mortems are due to be carried out on the bodies today or on Monday.
